Autism and ADHD often show up together — but that doesn’t make them easy to untangle. With over four decades of hands-on experience, dozens of textbooks, and his work as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Attention Disorders, Dr. Sam Goldstein knows this territory inside and out.

In this honest and practical talk, Dr. Goldstein will break down how Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) overlap — and where they don’t. He’ll share stories from the field, real-life case examples, and up-to-date research to help make sense of the confusion that can come with these diagnoses.

You’ll learn what drives these conditions, from genetics to environment, and why so many people live with both. More importantly, you’ll walk away with tools to help make more precise diagnoses and build better support plans — whether you’re working in a classroom, clinic, or at home.

This session is for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of how these two complex conditions interact — and how to support better those living with them at every stage of life.

At the end of this webinar, you will be able to…

  • Identify how preschool attention skills can impact school readiness and later achievement.
  • Explain why early intervention is vital in addressing challenges for our youngest learners.
  • Discuss how Conners EC™ and Conners K-CPT 2™ assessments can help identify attention challenges early.
  • Utilize these scientifically validated tools to facilitate smooth transitions to formal schooling for young children with attention challenges.
